You have an NCE date. Hold it. Between now and then: 550 questions, every option explained. Two full-length practice exams at the real 200-item length. An 8-day plan that takes one CACREP area a day. No login, no expiry.
We built this the way a licensure supervisor runs a study group, not the way a shelf gets filled. We started from NBCC's current content outline, the one in force until 1 July 2027. It sets 200 items in one sitting. Only 160 are scored; the other 40 are pretest items you cannot pick out. The exam scores Counseling Skills and Interventions at 30 percent and Areas of Clinical Focus at 29. Professional Practice and Ethics is 12, Intake, Assessment and Diagnosis 12, Treatment Planning 9, Core Counseling Attributes 8. Both exams follow those shares; your days follow the eight CACREP areas you studied. Check us against NBCC's published outline. We would rather you did.
What's inside
Eight days, one CACREP area each. Ethics and orientation, diversity, development, helping relationships, group work, career, assessment and testing, research and program evaluation.
550 original questions, all four options explained on every one. Every option, right and wrong, so you keep the reasoning, not the letter.
Two full-length practice exams at 200 items, weighted to the six scored domains, not split evenly across topics.
A 40-question diagnostic at the back, five items per CACREP area. A calibration check for the last week, not a warm-up.
Theory you can tell apart. Person-centered, CBT, solution-focused and systemic, set side by side on the decision each makes with one client.
Original vignettes throughout: boundaries, intake and diagnosis, group stages, career choice, and what a competent counselor does next. Maybe your last purchase for this was a deck of flashcards you stopped opening. Give it three evenings. If Day 1 tells you nothing about how you read a vignette, put it down. You are out an hour.
Three people read this well. A counseling graduate sitting it for the first time. An LPC, LCPC or LMHC candidate whose state accepts this exam. Someone on a second attempt who wants the weighting decided first. If ethics and scope are what you already supervise, start at Day 2.
Day 7 is testing and statistics, the day most people leave alone. Sit it anyway, and you'll find the assessment items stop being coin flips. NBCC's revised outline takes effect on 1 July 2027; this edition is built to the outline in force before then. Downloaded once, yours to keep.
