About this ebook

Your HESI A2 sitting has a date. Between now and then: 530 questions with every option explained, two full-length practice exams, a 14-day plan that starts on the sections your program scores. No login, no expiry.

We built this the way an admissions tutor runs a revision block, not the way a shelf gets filled. The HESI A2 is modular, so no single total exists to quote you. Elsevier documents seven academic exams, and your program chooses which you sit. Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and General Knowledge, and Basic Math Skills each run 50 items. Reading allows 60 minutes for those; the other three allow 50. Anatomy and Physiology, Biology and Chemistry each run 25 items in 25 minutes. Your program also sets its own cut score, so confirm both before you plan a fortnight. Check us against Elsevier's own published description. We would rather you did.

What's inside

The Section Map on Day 1. A worksheet recording which sections your program requires and what each is worth, so you stop paying rent on the ones it ignores.

530 original questions with rationales, across math, reading, vocabulary, grammar, anatomy and physiology, biology and chemistry. Every option gets a reason, including the wrong one that looked reasonable.

Two full-length practice tests and a 30-question diagnostic, so you'll see a score move rather than hope that it has.

Math and science worked step by step. Household to metric conversions, ratios and proportions, dosage-style arithmetic, the body system by system, and chemistry from atoms to pH.

The two language sections taken seriously. Vocabulary drilled with health-context words and affixes; grammar sorted by the error type that keeps costing you points. Maybe you already sat a free practice test online and could not tell what the score meant. Give this one three evenings. Fill in the Section Map, then sit the diagnostic and read it section by section. If it tells you nothing, put it down. An hour is all it cost.

Three applicants get real use from it. Someone sitting the HESI A2 for the first time. Someone retaking it to lift one section score. A career-changer who has not touched algebra or chemistry in a decade. If college algebra is still fresh in your hands, start at Day 4.

Day 11 is the long one. Six body systems in a single evening, and all the terminology that arrives with them. Take it on a night you are not working, and you'll see it hold. Downloaded once, yours to keep.

About the author

Passmark builds one kind of book: the one that makes your study hours count. We start from a simple conviction — a certification exam is a skills test, not a memory test — so we never hand you a wall of facts to reread. Our method comes from the science of how memory actually holds: you learn by retrieving, not rereading; you revisit on a widening schedule so it sticks; every answer is explained, right and wrong, so you keep the reasoning; and a diagnostic points your hours where they will move your score. We read each exam's current blueprint ourselves, write every question from scratch, and check every number in the book — question counts, domain weights, practice tests — against the finished pages, not the marketing. When an exam changes, our books change with it.
