This story goes back and forth between the main characters. This story started really slow and doesn’t pick up until about 25-30 percent in. It had so much depth to it and once the story picked up you couldn’t help but be totally involved in the characters’ lives and their journey. The last chapter caused some confusion. It’s a totally different character point of view from the main characters of this story and it’s basically an introduction into this character's upcoming story.

The fourth book in the Cage Family saga sees Hudson find his perfect match in Scarlett. These two both have father's who have left them damaged, and complicated families. Hudson is grumpy and reclusive but he is also very protective and while he doesn't want to admit he has feelings for Scarlett he is there to protect her when she needs him. There is danger and tragedy in their past but together they will work on getting a HEA.

This is the fourth and latest instalment in the Cage Family series, focusing on Hudson Cage, the virtual hermit, mountain-man brother. The series itself focuses on the two Cage families that find each other upon the death of the bigamist father. The will has many weird stipulates for inheritance, and these weave their way throughout the books. There is plenty of intrigue and tension, along with chemistry and spice; and an another teaser for the next book for sister Sophia (cannot wait).
