This book pulled on all my hearts strings!! Carrie Ann Ryan wrote with so much depth of emotion I felt every once of Sophia’s pain and agony. Her resilience and strength are beyond compare. I adored Carson’s immediate need to love and protect Sophia’s girls. Watching him completely fall for Sophia, was just the icing on the cake. Their chemistry was undeniable but beneath the surface was a beautiful raw love. Just so good.

The Cage family is complicated and messy and vey protective of each other. Sophia had a bad marriage and her ex is still hurting her but she is determined to protect her twins and herself. Carson believes that love is not real and he never plans on anything more than a night or two. When fate throws someone in your path you have no choice and that is what happens with Sophia and Carson, while neither one want a relationship they fall hard and fast.

Carson and Sophia brought heat-inducing spice, heart-melting swoon, and irresistible alpha protective vibes!! The nail-biting drama and action was balanced by the found family fun of the massive Cage family and all their interactions! I just love these characters so much! However, I will admit that the epilogue took me by surprise, and my anticipation for the next story through the roof!! 5⭐️ 2.5🌶️
