Your NBEO Part I ABS date is set. Before that morning: 532 questions with all four options explained, two timed 175-item practice exams, a 12-day plan that closes on a diagnostic. No login, no expiry.
We built this the way a boards tutor runs a review block, not the way a shelf gets filled. Part I ABS runs 370 items in one day. 350 count; 20 are pretest items you cannot pick out. You sit them as two 185-item sessions, four hours each. The Discipline-Based Content Outline gives every subject a range. Optics is the widest at 31 to 35 percent. Immunology, microbiology and pathology follow at 22 to 30. Your evenings split the same way: three days on optics, three on micro and immuno, two each on anatomy, pharmacology, and biochemistry with physiology. Check us against NBEO's published outline. We would rather you did.
What's inside
532 original questions, written for this book. Each explains why the key wins and why each distractor was built to look right.
Two timed practice exams at 175 items, weighted across the five disciplines. A scored review after each points you back to the pages you missed.
Optics worked, not asserted. Vergence, prism and Snell's law run step by step: what you write first, where sign conventions bite, how to check a number.
Basic science taught through the eye. Anatomy and pharmacology arrive as ocular vignettes, because that is how the exam asks about them.
Two cumulative reviews of 15 items, interleaving days you have finished, because week-one optics is what week three drops.
A 25-item diagnostic, reference cards and a glossary, short enough to read on a phone between labs. Maybe the last review book you bought was a wall of facts with a quiz bolted on. Give this one three evenings. Work Day 5 and see whether your sign conventions survive a timed vergence problem. If nothing there is news to you, put it down. An hour is all it cost.
Three readers get use from this. A student sitting Part I for the first time. Someone back for a second attempt after a near miss. An internationally trained optometrist on a US licensure route. If optics is already your strongest subject, start at Day 8.
Day 6 is a grind. Physical optics does not reward skimming. You'll find the paper reads shorter once it is behind you. Downloaded once, yours to keep.
