About this ebook

You have a CMA (AAMA) date. Hold it. Before then: 575 questions with every option explained, two timed 200-question practice exams, a 12-day plan that opens with a 25-question diagnostic. No login, no expiry.

We built this the way a program director runs the last weeks of a medical assisting course, not the way a shelf gets filled. AAMA delivers 200 items in four 40-minute segments, 160 minutes in all. Only 180 of those items are scored. The other 20 are unmarked pretest questions. Clinical content carries 59 percent of the scored items, more than General and Administrative put together. So the clinical core takes seven of your twelve days, and both papers run the full 200. Check us against AAMA's content outline, revised January 2026. We would rather you did.

What's inside

Day 1 starts with a 25-question diagnostic. It shows which of the three AAMA areas is thinnest, before you spend an evening on the wrong one.

Seven clinical days in the order the work happens. Infection control, intake and vital signs, assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, EKG and point-of-care testing, dosage and medication, then emergencies.

575 original questions, every option explained. Each rationale says why the right answer is right, and you'll see why each wrong one tempts you.

Two 200-question practice exams. Score one the same day you sit it and read every item you missed. Save the second for the week before your date.

Administrative and general taught as scored content. Reception and scheduling, records and the EHR, practice finance, insurance and claims concepts, plus law, HIPAA and ethics.

Days built for the gaps in a shift. Short blocks, a cold self-test before you read, and a recall of yesterday after. Maybe your last review book was a textbook with a question bank bolted on. Give it three evenings. If the diagnostic shows you nothing new about your clinical gaps, put it down. One hour, and you stop.

It is written for three readers. A student finishing a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program. A working assistant recertifying. A career changer who wants a route through three weeks, not a 600-page textbook. If rooming patients is already your day job, start at Day 3.

Day 11 is the one people push back a night. Dosage calculation does not care how you feel about it, and the exam scores it like everything else. Downloaded once, yours to keep.

About the author

Passmark builds one kind of book: the one that makes your study hours count. We start from a simple conviction — a certification exam is a skills test, not a memory test — so we never hand you a wall of facts to reread. Our method comes from the science of how memory actually holds: you learn by retrieving, not rereading; you revisit on a widening schedule so it sticks; every answer is explained, right and wrong, so you keep the reasoning; and a diagnostic points your hours where they will move your score. We read each exam's current blueprint ourselves, write every question from scratch, and check every number in the book — question counts, domain weights, practice tests — against the finished pages, not the marketing. When an exam changes, our books change with it.
