A birthday ball. The Queen is pushing suitors at Princess Evelyn, hoping for an advantageous match. At her birthday ball she is expected to allow suitors to court her. Evie only wants Nate, but he is just a servant, even if he is the head chef. How can she meet her royal pressures without hurting Nate? This is a good addition to the series. Nate and Evie are a cute couple. She is naïve and literal, while he is patient and understands the pressures she is under.

Evie finally tells Nate that she loves him and he loves her too. However her mother has decided that she needs to start courting people of her rank and that she will have a ball to celebrate her birthday. You have to love Veronica and how she helps Evie. Plus one of Evie’s suitors appears to like Kathryn. This was a fun read and I would love to make some of those deserts. I would recommend this light read. I received an ARC and the views and opinions are my own.

Gotta say with the way things started in the book and the progression of events I never would have seen that ending coming. At least not that quickly. I mean I guess it goes to show you yes she’s a queen but at the end of the day she’s still a mother and her child’s happiness is more important that the perfect match on paper. Along with that fun family drama there were also plenty of drool worthy treats to read about and dragon shenanigans to enjoy. I think my favorite part of the book was the c
