I liked this story as it introduces a mer world with a lot of political intrigue introduced here. Enjoyed meeting Lucrezia and seeing her discover what is really happening in her city. I liked the world building and the characters. Cannot wait to see what stories are in this world.

The world below. Drama, romance, and possible danger launch this series off to a good start. I am curious to see what’s next.

I really liked this book, including all the politics involved with mermaids and the magic as well. Leads nicely into book 2.
