About this ebook

I’ve always wanted to write a book about the things that move me, but I never quite knew where to begin. I’m not really an author, so you can imagine the challenges that come with that. This book is going to be a little different—maybe even a little messy at times—but it will be honest. It will reflect who I am, in all the ways that matter, whether good or bad.

Inside, you’ll find quotes, song lyrics, film and TV dialogue, poems, and all the little things that keep me going. I love discovering anything I can relate to, especially the things that can turn a bad day into a better one.

A big thank you to all the people whose words I’ve drawn from to bring this book together—you inspire me.

In the end, it’s all about the smiles and the cries.

About the author

Brian Phokeerdoss is an insightful author who emerged from the heart of London. At 54, he has unexpectedly found solace and expression in writing, a journey that began amidst the solitude of the COVID-19 lockdown. With no prior aspirations to be a writer, Brian has since published five thought-provoking books, including "Surviving the Covert Narcissist: The Devil You Know," "Unmasking the Covert Narcissist: The Hidden Lies of Ona Banilyte," "Pages of Solitude: Just Maybe They Didn't Really Know Me at All," and "You Can't Stop the Pirates: My A to Z of Hardcore and Jungle the Early Years."

His works, two of which closely relate to his personal experiences with a covert female narcissist, offer a deep dive into the aftermath of such relationships. Brian's authentic voice and unique perspectives provide comfort and guidance to those navigating the turbulent waters of psychological manipulation and recovery. Despite his late start in the literary world, Brian's dedication to mental health advocacy and his commitment to illuminating the shadows of psychological abuse have established him as a respected new voice, resonating with readers across the globe. Beyond the written word, Brian is a passionate advocate for mental health awareness and encourages open conversations about the often-unspoken realities of psychological abuse. His books serve as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of sharing one's truth.
