You're Not Family

Emersyn Whitaker had just really found her mother and her siblings though they knew where she was her whole life. Her mother had taken off and left her behind with her father when she was five-years-old. She had take the other kids in the family with her and then moved across the country to start her life somewhere new. The no contact with the young girl had left some very deep holes in Emersyn though she had strived to do the best in everything.

Nearly twenty years later Emersyn had the chance to spend some time with her mother and her siblings. Seh moved the company she had started out to where her mother was living and she tried her hardest to get to know a group of people that didn't see her as a person, only a checkbook.

Emersyn's brother Tim was getting married and he wanted the best for his soon to be bride. That meant asking his younger sister for help. She was happy to help. She considered it a wedding gift to the couple and would never think of it again. that is until his bride told Emersyn in front of the entire wedding party and her family that she didn't need to be there because she was not family. 

Emersyn left without incident but she also left with a friend. Ben, was the brother to Emersyn's sister-in-law. He was not friends with the people in her family but they seemed to think he was. He was there to help Emersyn and his own sister who had been a part of the wedding party. Ben and Emersyn both lived in the business world. they knew each other there as well. She could let down her guard with him. 

When she did she found something there she never thought about. A feeling that was there between the two people. It took someone from her family to tell her she was not their family. Instead she found her own.
