About this app

Learning salah as a child means copying the grown-ups and hoping you got it right. A parent cannot watch every rak'ah, and a child praying alone has no one to tell them that a bow or a second prostration was missed.

Kirun watches for you. Stand the phone beside the prayer mat, about two big steps away, choose the prayer and pray as usual. Afterwards Kirun shows what it saw: every rak'ah, every bow, every prostration and every sitting.

WHAT IT NOTICES
• How many rak'ahs it saw, and whether that matches the prayer you chose
• A rak'ah with one prostration instead of two, or an extra one
• A rak'ah where it saw no bow
• A bow or prostration that was very quick
• A missing middle sitting in a prayer of three or four rak'ahs, and the final sitting

HONEST, NEVER A JUDGE
Kirun never judges a prayer. It only says what it saw, and your family decides what that means. When it could not see a part clearly, because someone walked past, the light was low or the phone moved, it says so and gives no note about that part. A wrong note would teach a child the wrong thing, so it would rather stay silent.

MADE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Add each child by first name or nickname, with their own color. Each practice is kept on the phone so you can see how the week went. The parent corner shows every child's week and lets you delete records, and an App PIN or your phone's fingerprint unlock keeps it for parents.

LEARN THE STEPS
A simple picture guide shows the four positions of salah, standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting, in order, for children who are still learning.

SETUP THAT HELPS
Before you start, Kirun checks that it can see the whole body from the side, that there is enough light, that it can see where the forehead will touch the mat, and that the phone is still. It says what to change in plain words, then counts down and watches quietly while the screen stays dark.

THE CAMERA
Nothing is recorded. Each camera picture is read on this phone to find the body's position and is thrown away at once.

GOOD TO KNOW
Kirun sees positions, not words: it cannot hear the recitation, and it is a practice helper, not a replacement for learning from a parent or teacher. It works best from the side, in a lit room, with one person praying in view. Use it for the five daily prayers, or for any other prayer by entering its number of rak'ahs.
