He broke her heart once. Now he's back—and he needs her help.

Brian

Hockey was my life until I punched out my team captain and walked away from the game. Now I’m back in St. David with custody of my twelve-year-old niece and nowhere else to turn. My best friend Rowdy Lawrence is the only person who can help – but I broke his younger sister’s heart when I left.

I’m not sure she’s happy to see me return. But when she offers to help me figure out single parenthood, I can’t say no. Even though being near her is torture. Even though her other brother Rebel will kill me if he finds out what I’m thinking.

Even though I’ll probably break her heart all over again when I leave.

Now Brian’s back, desperate and asking for help with the niece he's caring for alone.

I should say no. I should protect my heart and walk away. Instead, I'm falling for him all over again.
