Shannon Linville is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) and a licensed physical therapist with over fifteen years of clinical experience specializing in the treatment of chronic back and neck pain. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed advanced clinical training in spinal rehabilitation, ergonomics, and motor control at the Institute of Physical Art.
Early in her career, Shannon observed that many of her patients cycled through repeat episodes of back pain because they never addressed the underlying postural habits that had created the imbalance in the first place. This insight led her to develop a systematic, exercise-based approach that combines manual therapy education with patient empowerment, helping thousands of individuals regain pain-free movement and confidence in their daily activities.
In addition to her clinical work, Shannon has contributed to continuing education courses for fellow physical therapists, speaking on topics such as “Postural Re-Education for Desk Workers” and “Exercise Progressions for Lumbar Instability.” She has also served as a consultant for corporate wellness programs, designing on-site ergonomic assessments and short daily movement routines for office environments.
Shannon lives in Portland, Oregon, where she enjoys hiking, yoga, and practicing the very exercises she writes about. She believes that lasting change happens not through complex treatments, but through simple, consistent movements that reconnect people with the natural strength and alignment of their own bodies. *Stand Tall Live Pain-Free* is her first book, born from years of clinical notes and the conviction that everyone deserves to move without pain.
