Shannon Linville is a language educator, remote work communication coach, and the author of *Conversational Spanish for Remote Work*. For more than fifteen years, she has helped professionals move from hesitant classroom Spanish to confident, practical communication in virtual teams. Her work focuses on the real situations that remote employees face every day: video calls, multilingual chat channels, project updates, scheduling conflicts, and relationship building across time zones.
She began her career teaching Spanish in international business programs, where she noticed that many professionals could read and write well but still froze during live conversations. That observation led her to create training methods based on scripts, preparation routines, and deliberate listening practice. She has since coached engineers, managers, customer support teams, and independent consultants in more than twenty countries.
Shannon believes that language learning does not belong in a classroom alone. It happens in the minutes before a video call, in a carefully written email, and in the courage to ask a colleague to repeat a phrase. In her coaching sessions, she helps clients identify the exact words they need for their own roles and then turn those words into habits.
When she is not working, Shannon enjoys learning other languages, exploring new podcasts, and volunteering with organizations that connect remote workers across cultures. She currently splits her time between the Pacific Northwest and Oaxaca, Mexico, where she continues to test her own advice by starting every interaction in Spanish.
