પદ્મશ્રી સુધા મૂર્તિનો જન્મ ઉત્તર કર્ણાટકના શિંગાવમાં ૧૯૫૦માં થયો. તેઓ કમ્પ્યુટર સાયન્સમાં M.Tech છે. હાલમાં તેઓ ઇન્ફોસીસ ફાઉન્ડેશનના ચેરપર્સન છે. તેમણે અનેક નવલકથાઓ, ટેકનકિલ પુસ્તકો, પ્રવાસવર્ણનો તથા જીવન ઉપયોગી લેખો લખ્યાં છે. ભારતભરની મુખ્ય ભાષાઓમાં તેમનાં લખાણોના અનુવાદ થયા છે. તેમની "ડૉલરવહુ' નવલકથા ઝી ટીવી પર સીરીયલરૂપ પણ પામી છે. તેઓ પતિ અને બે બાળકો સાથે બેંગલોરમાં સ્થાયી થયાં છે.
