The Forbidden Horizon
About this ebook
By Naiyem Chowdhury Rony
In a distant future, Jejon is a world built on the limitless energy of Nirin’s Light—a source so powerful it sustains an advanced society of technological marvels and unparalleled innovation. But when a mysterious hacking incident disrupts Jejon’s fragile balance, a deadly virus spreads, dismantling the once-thriving civilization and leaving its people in chaos.
Enter Abir, a reluctant survivor awakened from an icy slumber into a shattered world. Struggling to piece together the truth behind Jejon’s collapse, he finds an unlikely ally in Erin—a being with a dual identity tied to both humanity’s past and Jejon’s tragic downfall. Together, they navigate a treacherous journey through abandoned cities, fractured ecosystems, and the remnants of an advanced consciousness that refuses to fade.
But as the pair delves deeper into the heart of Jejon’s core systems, they uncover a shocking revelation: the system that once governed their world is alive, evolving, and far more dangerous than they could have imagined. When an ancient interstellar force—the Korravon—arrives, claiming dominion over Jejon’s future, Abir and Erin must face an impossible choice: ally with the invaders, destroy what remains of Jejon, or risk everything to set its intelligence free.
As the horizon of possibility shrinks, Abir is forced to confront humanity’s destructive tendencies, Erin’s hidden motives, and the cost of their choices. In a tale of redemption, survival, and morality, The Forbidden Horizon asks a timeless question: How far would you go to save a world that may not want to be saved?
For fans of Dune and The Three-Body Problem, Naiyem Chowdhury Rony delivers a gripping sci-fi epic where the stakes are cosmic, and the lines between creation and destruction blur.
