About the author

Theodor Fontane (1819-1898) was the great novelist of Prussia, whose late novels rank among the finest in German literature. Haberdash Books is dedicated to bringing overlooked works of European and world literature into English. We specialise in nineteenth and early twentieth-century fiction from lesser-translated languages and traditions.
