Dark academia, wrapped in a blissful coating of high fantasy. An intelligent, strong apothecary heroine with skilled botanical knowledge. A Nameless Baron, taking bountiful risks. Plagues,Cures, and Posions. World building left me wanting more.

I had to shorten my review for Google; that was how much I loved this book. It brought everything. Amazing characters, incredible world-building, original story, and a plot that grabs you and doesn't let go until the end. I absolutely adored this book and plan on reading it again and again. A clean romantasy that's suitable for YA and up. A definite recommend.

This was such a great book, with the perfect mix of magic, humor, and intrigue. I've been meaning to read one of Moore's books for ages and I'm so glad I finally did. Now to figure out how to find the time to read literally everything she's ever written 😆 Joyce is an apothecary with the gift to her plants, but she doesn't like using it unless she absolutely has to. After one of her plague patients is poisoned, she travels with Sav, a Baron and scholar, to discover a cure for the poison. On the way, they discover a plot that could destroy everything. I'm really excited to read more about these excellent characters, the prophecy to defeat the Plague King, and Jayce's past that she's been trying to hide from.
