Xuanzang and his disciples lodged at Baolin Temple for a night during which Xuanzang metthe ghost of the king of the Wuji Kingdom, who died three years ago, in a dream. The king told Xuanzang that he was framed and murdered by a demon and begged Xuanzang to tell the princethe truth the next day. He disappeared after leaving a jade plate for Xuanzang. Upon awakening fromthe dream, Xuanzang told his disciples the story. The next day,the monkey transformed into a white rabbit to lure the prince to the temple. At night, the monkey and Pigsy retrieved the king’sbody from a well in the imperial garden and brought him back to life. The monkey led the real kingto the palace. Upon seeing his cover blown, the demon fled immediately. Finally, the demon wassubdued with the help of Wenshu Bodhisattva.
