When one of Aurora's floating cliffs cracks apart on the night of Moira's Coming of Age ball, the fallout is immediate and devastating: people dead, her family broken, and a kingdom suddenly held together by nothing but her willingness to step into a role she never prepared for. As Moira learns for the first time that Aurora doesn't float by magic alone, but by five hidden artifacts called Cloud Keepers — and that someone is stealing them — the question stops being whether she wants to be queen and starts being whether she can save her home before there is no home left to save.
With Pyrros and Nerida by her side and a young stone troll healer named Wystan newly added to their company, Moira pieces together a mystery that winds through old betrayals, a long-dead king, and a shadowy enemy pulling strings from somewhere just out of reach. The more she uncovers, the more she realizes that the threat to Aurora is not just political, not just criminal — it is connected to something vast and deliberate and deeply personal.
She is still learning to lead. She doesn't have the luxury of time.
Do you enjoy epic fantasy where the stakes are real, the found family is everything, and the magic runs deeper than anyone expects? Then book two of the Elemental Saga is waiting for you.
Camilla Vavruch writes fantasy stories filled with magic, misfits, and found family. She is a medical doctor by training and an author by calling, balancing clinical work with a deep commitment to storytelling and creativity.
Her writing is character-driven and emotionally grounded, often exploring themes of belonging, courage, and chosen family. She enjoys weaving warmth and hope into fantastical settings, creating stories that balance adventure with heart.
Camilla is the author of three series, The Elemental Saga and Stories of Gereon, (both set in the same universe, but with entirely different characters and focus), and Sugar and Scales. Currently, she’s working on The Greenhouse Keeper’s Guide to Magical Gardening, which is coming to Kickstarter in the fall of 2026. All of Camilla’s stories include found family (her favorite trope!), at least a touch of hurt/comfort, and a healthy dose of fantastical creatures.
Beyond writing, Camilla enjoys developing the visual and creative elements that accompany her books. Her stories frequently include queer representation and richly imagined worlds that invite readers to stay awhile.
Camilla lives in Sweden with her husband and three children. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found with a pen in hand, sketching new ideas, baking, or dreaming up her next project.
