About the author
Camilla Vavruch writes fantasy stories filled with magic, misfits, and found family. She is a medical doctor by training and an author by calling, balancing clinical work with a deep commitment to storytelling and creativity.
Her writing is character-driven and emotionally grounded, often exploring themes of belonging, courage, and chosen family. She enjoys weaving warmth and hope into fantastical settings, creating stories that balance adventure with heart.
Camilla is the author of three series, The Elemental Saga and Stories of Gereon, (both set in the same universe, but with entirely different characters and focus), and Sugar and Scales. Currently, she’s working on The Greenhouse Keeper’s Guide to Magical Gardening, which is coming to Kickstarter in the fall of 2026. All of Camilla’s stories include found family (her favorite trope!), at least a touch of hurt/comfort, and a healthy dose of fantastical creatures.
Beyond writing, Camilla enjoys developing the visual and creative elements that accompany her books. Her stories frequently include queer representation and richly imagined worlds that invite readers to stay awhile.
Camilla lives in Sweden with her husband and three children. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found with a pen in hand, sketching new ideas, baking, or dreaming up her next project.
