About this ebook

The Gut Health Blueprint is a detailed, practical guide to Gut Health Made Simple for Beginners for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include Your Gut Is the Center of Everything, Meet Your Microbiome, Is Your Gut Happy? A Self-Assessment, Gut Health Myths That Hold You Back, The Gut-Healing Foods Pantry, Foods That Wreak Havoc on Your Gut, Your First Gut-Friendly Meal Plan, The Power of Fermented Foods, Probiotics vs. Prebiotics: Which Do You Need?, Stress Less for a Healthier Gut, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Jessica Gleason is a certified functional nutritionist and digestive health educator with over fifteen years of clinical experience helping clients reverse chronic digestive issues, identify food sensitivities, and rebuild their relationship with food from the ground up. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and completed advanced training in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Kresser Institute.

Jessica's own health journey began in her early twenties when a decade of undiagnosed IBS, chronic fatigue, and worsening food intolerances left her feeling like a prisoner in her own body. After conventional medicine offered little more than antacids and elimination diets that never quite worked, she discovered functional nutrition and began the systematic process of healing her own gut—a journey that took over two years but fundamentally changed the course of her life and career. That experience drives everything she teaches today.

She has since worked with more than two thousand clients across private practice, group programs, and corporate wellness initiatives, helping them navigate conditions ranging from GERD and SIBO to ulcerative colitis and autoimmune-driven digestive dysfunction. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based nutrition science but delivered with a deep respect for the real-world challenges of cooking, shopping, eating out, and managing stress while trying to heal. She does not believe in fear-based eating or unnecessarily restrictive protocols.

Jessica is also the creator of The Gut Resiliency Method, a six-phase framework that combines dietary intervention, targeted supplementation, nervous system regulation, and lifestyle design to create lasting digestive health. She lives in Portland, Oregon, where she gardens, ferments vegetables on her kitchen counter, and tests every recipe in her books on her husband and two children, who have learned to stop asking whether a dish is "a recipe or an experiment." She writes regularly at jessicagleasonnutrition.com and hosts the weekly podcast The Resilient Gut.
