Benny Hinn (Toufik Benedictus Hinn) was born on December 3, 1952, in Jaffa, in the modern state of Israel, to a Greek father and Armenian mother in a devout Greek Orthodox home. Raised amid Arabic culture, educated in Catholic schools, and formed by the historic Christian traditions of the Holy Land, he later emigrated with his family to Toronto, Canada, after the Six-Day War. There, as a teenager, he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ in 1972 and soon sensed a call to preach the Gospel.
In 1983 he founded Orlando Christian Center in Orlando, Florida, where his Miracle Crusades quickly drew large crowds and became known for passionate worship and reports of healing. His television program “This Is Your Day” carried those services into homes around the world and helped make him one of the most recognized evangelists of his generation. Over the decades, his crusades in cities across North America, Africa, Asia, and beyond have drawn audiences ranging from tens of thousands to multiple millions, including a landmark series of meetings in India reported at over seven million attendees across three services.
Benny Hinn Ministries, headquartered in the United States, continues to focus on proclaiming the saving and healing power of Jesus Christ through Miracle Healing Services, television and online broadcasts, and training conferences. In addition to evangelistic work, the ministry partners with missions, children’s homes, and humanitarian outreaches that provide food, clothing, shelter, medical care, and Christian education to people in need around the world.
Pastor Benny is also the author of numerous Christian books, including the international bestseller “Good Morning, Holy Spirit,” which has introduced countless believers to a deeper personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. After more than fifty years of ministry, his ongoing passion is to lift up Jesus, to see the sick healed and the lost saved, and to help raise a new generation of believers and leaders who understand the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
