A SECRET MISSION. A WORLD AT STAKE.

As the world stands on the cusp of war, ex-soldier Leon Courtney is recruited by his uncle, General Penrod Ballantyne, to undertake a dangerous secret mission - spying on the Germans in East Africa, whom the General suspects are preparing for the Kaiser's war.

Posing as a professional game hunter Leon is tasked with gathering information on one of his clients, wealthy industrialist Otto von Meerbach. Leon finds himself falling for von Meerbach's beautiful mistress, Eva von Wellberg and the two begin a secret love affair.

When Leon uncovers Meerbach's plot to raise a rebellion against Britain among the disenchanted survivors of the Boer war, Leon finds himself desperately fighting a battle against time, but is his true enemy closer to home than he ever expected?

A Courtney Series adventure - Book 1 in the Assegai sequence, exploring the two world wars through the eyes of the Courtney family.

I was glued to 'Assegai' every step of the way, more so nearing the end. I adored the wonderful descriptions of early Africa during the 1900s. Definitely made my top 10!

Assegai is a gripping historical adventure that blends espionage, romance, and the growing tensions before World War I. As Leon Courtney undertakes a dangerous secret mission in East Africa, he becomes entangled in betrayal, political intrigue, and unexpected loyalties. Fast-paced and richly detailed, the novel delivers an exciting mix of history, action, and suspense.
