About this ebook

The Prompt Playbook is a detailed, practical guide to ChatGPT Prompts for Everyday Work and Life Tasks for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include The Prompt Problem: Why Your Current ChatGPT Workflow Isn't Giving You Results, The Prompt Formula: A Repeatable Structure for Any Task, Email and Messages in Minutes: Automate Your Daily Communication, Prompt Pitfalls: Seven Errors That Waste Your Time and How to Fix Them, The Quick-Start Prompt Library for Errands, Planning, and Household Tasks, Brainstorming on Demand: Creativity Prompts for Writers, Marketers, and Problem Solvers, Decision Accelerators: Prompts to Weigh Options and Make Smarter Choices, Meeting Overload: Summaries, Agendas, and Action Items Without the Note-Taking Drag, Real-World Prompting: How a Freelancer Saved 10 Hours a Week, The Overwhelm Trap: Why You're Still Doing Everything Yourself and How Prompts Can Pull You Out, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Tashanna Kelly is a productivity strategist and technology educator who has spent the past decade helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives work more effectively with digital tools. Her work focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and everyday productivity — she believes that the most powerful technology is the kind that makes your actual life easier, not the kind that sounds impressive in a keynote.

Kelly began her career in instructional design, building training programs for Fortune 500 companies transitioning to remote and hybrid work models. That experience taught her something counterintuitive: most people don't need more tools. They need better frameworks for using the tools they already have. When ChatGPT launched in late 2022, she recognized immediately that prompting was a skill, not a parlor trick, and began developing the structured approach that became *The Prompt Playbook*.

Her methodology is grounded in practical experience rather than theory. She has personally written and tested thousands of prompts across dozens of domains — from legal document summarization to meal planning to curriculum design — and what works has been stress-tested, documented, and refined. She doesn't write about prompt engineering as an abstract discipline. She writes about it as a daily practice that saves time, reduces mental overhead, and helps people get better results with less effort.

Kelly has been featured in *Forbes*, *Fast Company*, and *Harvard Business Review* for her work on AI literacy in the workplace. She is a regular contributor to *Inc.* and *The Muse*, where her articles on prompting strategies consistently rank among the most-read pieces. She has delivered keynotes and workshops for organizations including Microsoft, the American Bar Association, and the National Association of Realtors.

She is the author of two previous books: *The Remote Work Blueprint* (2021), a practical guide to building productive home offices and routines, and *Tool Minimalism* (2023), which makes the case for reducing your digital toolset to the essentials and mastering them deeply. Both grew out of the same conviction that drives this book: that the best solutions are not the most complicated ones.

Kelly lives in Austin, Texas, where she runs her consulting practice, Kelly Method LLC, and teaches an annual workshop series called "Prompt Camp" that sells out months in advance. When she's not writing or speaking, she can be found cooking elaborate multi-day recipes (she prompts ChatGPT for every step), hiking the Texas Hill Country with her dog, and building elaborate Lego sets that she claims are "market research on systematic thinking."

She holds a B.A. in English from Spelman College and an M.S. in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University. She is currently at work on her next book, which explores how AI is reshaping the way children learn to write and think.
