About this ebook

Nevask Shipping handles over one-third of the Confederation’s cargoes. It is a family company dating back to the earliest days of commercial spaceflight.

It has a problem. A major problem.

Persons unknown routinely raid Nevask shipments. Very specific shipments. Low-volume, high-value cargoes disappear at least twice a month. There must be someone on the inside picking the targets.

But when the latest internal investigation turns up nothing—yet again—Sukal Nevask takes a chance on a new security firm.

Shepherd Security Services.

Join Alex and company for their next adventure and find out what awaits them in Colfyr.

The first book was enjoyable if a little annoying by the end, this again starts well and develops the characters and plot a pace but by the home stretch it's beginning to annoy how the "holier than thou" attitude crept into the storyline. I'm hoping for an improvement in the next book, but not holding my breath.

A good book two in the series. The best parts of the story are pretty simply Alex steamrolling opponents who have no idea he is a threat. OP MC stories are fun when well done, and in many regards, this is a good one. Other times, I hear the words "Super easy! Barely an inconvenience." I would like a little more resistance towards Alex marching forward in this story. Another issue is how alex thinks and acts at times. At one point, he comments that people immutable characteristics are the main dividing points of humanity. this is laughably wrong as the largest dividing elements have always been: wealth, religion, and politics.. when he says different, it makes his argument seem a bit petty and High Schoolish. Later says he avoids violence when he can just after blowing a guy's leg off instead of running him down. last is the tacked on nongirlfriend on earth. Easily the worst character of the story. can't wait for her to move from rancher school to becoming an astrophysicist.
