About this ebook

'Viral Vidroh' is a powerful account of India’s emerging Generation Z, a political, cultural, and emotional generation shaped by smartphones, social media, and growing uncertainty. The book explores how traditional forms of protest—slogans, songs, and posters—have evolved into memes, reels, hashtags, emojis, and viral messages. Focusing on the youth movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, it examines protests against the alleged NEET paper leak, unemployment, corruption, educational inequality, political stagnation, and social division. The book argues that social media activism is not merely online noise or entertainment; it represents a new form of democratic consciousness and resistance. Generation Z combines humour, satire, creativity, and courage to challenge authority, even in the face of police action and repression. It also highlights the roles of Sonam Wangchuk, independent journalists, YouTubers, and digital activists in shaping public opinion. Viral Vidroh is ultimately a study of how technology, anger, and collective action are redefining Indian democracy and political communication.
