About this ebook

Being a dragon is a death sentence. Being a Tasker might be worse. Jean-Michel is both.

Senias is a shifted dragon, working as a special operative for the very organization out to kill him.

Under his alias, Jean-Michel Raudine, he is a tasker - an agent above all others within Crimson; the organization governing all supernaturals. Bound by an ancient oath to a family of dragon mages, he can survive in a human body, but is he losing his true self to the world he has adapted to?

Gabriel Kennedy, a well-known CEO with secrets, serves as a Councilor in Crimson's justice system. What will he do when he discovers his tasker is breaking the law by simply existing?

Jean-Michel's life is a series of dangerous missions, while Gabriel's is filled with lonely meetings, until doppelgängers are discovered. Are they up to something sinister?

With lives hanging in the balance, can Jean-Michel navigate a perilous path to help Gabriel solve the case before the Crimson Council descends into chaos? Or will they become victims of the doppelgangers and the corruption around them?

Doppelgangers & Deceit is the first book in The Dragon Tasker Series - a high-intensity supernatural thriller that blends urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Learn to love (and hate) a diverse chorus of characters brought together by the adventures of a cynical dragon shifter and the human trying to save him.

Look for: A true crossover procedural that highlights politics, corruption, forensics, conspiracy, secret societies, and magic. Our urban fantasy world, with its magical realism and multi-species alliances, also includes paranormal romances of MM, MF, and poly love that are often slow burn, but spicy.

Rachel Adams has put together and great story. I am new to the magical realms, but her story line made it easy and interesting to follow. I really appreciate her expertise and her flow.

About the author

Rachel grew up in rural, small-town Alabama. Her writing grew from an exploration of the culture and the hidden nuances of that culture. She began writing at around the age of 11. Rachel’s escapism as a child grew her imagination and her spirit. Her imagination helped her survive.

Having lived in North Carolina since 2007, she has helped raise three kids, worked in several fields, and had her adventures in life. She uses her own experiences and the settings familiar to her to create stories to write about; both fiction and non-fiction.

Rachel Adams writes multi-genre fiction and always adds supernatural, occult, gothic, and paranormal elements to her work. She loves non-standard relationships and diversity among the cultures of the characters she comes up with. She gets her love of these creative themes from her desire to break away from the oppression she has witnessed.

Rachel D. Adams and Dawn McClellan have been writing urban fantasy and fantasy stories together for decades! Meeting on the very first internet forums, groups, and clubs, they became fast-friends and collaborators. Together, they’ve written original fantasy, urban fantasy, sci-fi, and fan fiction together and with other hobby writers. They love writing all kinds of diverse characters, allowing those characters to drive the plots, while keeping true to their cultures. They began publishing their stories in 2021 thanks to some pushing from their family and friends.

Dawn McClellan was born and raised in South Texas. She wrangles her career in the medical field, writing, and being a mother, wife, and grandmother. Her inspiration comes from people in her life, especially powerful matriarchs and wicked, but loving and loyal men.

Enamored of the macabre, Dawn loves to read, write, explore the country life and explore history’s secrets. When not working on her writing, Dawn also loves to spend time with her grandbabies. She finds peace in the small moments, be it reading a book with them, playing in the park, roaming museums, or enjoying a homemade country breakfast.
