About this ebook

You have an NBCOT OTR date. Hold it. Between now and then: 547 questions, every option explained. Two full-length practice exams at the real 180-item length. A 12-day plan weighted to the four domains. No login, no expiry.

We built this the way a fieldwork educator runs a review block, not the way a shelf gets filled. We started from the format NBCOT has delivered since 2 January 2024. It presents 180 items inside a four-hour appointment. Items are three- and four-option single-response, plus six-option multiple-response sets. Evaluation and assessment is 23 percent of the outline. Analysis, interpretation and planning is another 23. Selecting and managing interventions is 38 percent, and competency and practice management 16. Six of the twelve teaching days sit inside that 38. The exam tests what an entry-level therapist does next, with the client's own priority driving it. Check us against NBCOT's published content outline. We would rather you did.

What's inside

A 25-question diagnostic, weighted across all four domains, not split evenly. Sit it whenever you want to aim the hours left.

547 original questions, all four options explained on every one. Every option, right and wrong, so a vignette leaves you with reasoning instead of a letter.

Two full-length practice exams at 180 items, both carrying the multiple-response sets, where two right answers of three earn nothing.

Six intervention days, one per population: pediatrics and early intervention, orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, mental health, geriatrics, assistive technology and splinting, and safety.

Two full days on competency and practice management. Ethics, supervising assistants and aides, caseload and documentation, reimbursement, and reading evidence well enough to use it.

Short blocks, built for a phone. One idea per screen, so a study day fits between a placement and dinner. Maybe you own a review book that turned out to be a textbook with questions stapled on. Give it three evenings. If the diagnostic finds nothing you had not guessed about your weakest domain, put it down. One hour, and you have lost nothing.

This suits three people. A student finishing an MOT or OTD with a date already booked. A recent graduate working as a rehab tech while a seat comes free. Someone retaking after four hours ran out on them. If writing goals and intervention plans is already your daily work, start at Day 5.

Day 10 is safety and the emergencies nobody trains you for, and people postpone it. Sit it early and you'll find the geriatrics items easier. Downloaded once, yours to keep.

About the author

Passmark builds one kind of book: the one that makes your study hours count. We start from a simple conviction — a certification exam is a skills test, not a memory test — so we never hand you a wall of facts to reread. Our method comes from the science of how memory actually holds: you learn by retrieving, not rereading; you revisit on a widening schedule so it sticks; every answer is explained, right and wrong, so you keep the reasoning; and a diagnostic points your hours where they will move your score. We read each exam's current blueprint ourselves, write every question from scratch, and check every number in the book — question counts, domain weights, practice tests — against the finished pages, not the marketing. When an exam changes, our books change with it.
