Marilyn, or preferably Norma Jeane, was and still is my female Outright Icon! Perhaps it is owed to my absolute admiration of her profound shimmering beauty and that she commenced a life, in what must have been hideous and totally on the 'back foot'! Of course after reaching the tender age of 16, forced into a marriage to James Dougherty, thankfully though he seemed to have treated her reasonably well, but her ambitious character and youth was not suited, to sitting waiting for James to return here and there, on leave from the Military. So, the courageous girl looked for a spot in Hollywood, by first enrolling at a Photographic Modelling School,hoping to be spotted, which she was without doubt and the rest is History!
