About this ebook

In this thrilling New York Times bestseller, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is trying to solve a high-profile lawyer's murder—but first he must face the public's suspicion ... and his darkest fears.

An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive—and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous—that it falls to Harry to solve it.

Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

"Michael Connelly is the master of the universe in which he lives, and that is the sphere of crime thrillers. This man is so good at what he does." ―Huffington Post

Man what an awesome trip this book takes you on. It pulled me in different directions with it's storytelling and I loved it! On the one hand I am so pro-cop and their thoughts throughout the book in regards to the citizens and it's defender. On the other hand, the story that gets unveiled makes me understand the victims in this book (not the citizens, they're still morons). I absolutely hated Deputy Chief Irving and his directness with Bosch, but that's the beauty of MC, he pulls you into the story to feel these things. The lack of accountability really killed me in this book, but it was a welcome emotion for the same aforementioned feeling. It reveals a lot of disturbing story as well, yikes. It was just a well told story I really enjoyed. It did feel rushed, as in not enough pages. The ending was one I didn't feel the guilty party deserved... He deserved way worse! This books ending was just blah... That dropped my score. 4.25/5.
