About this ebook

Leaving his spring cleaning unfinished to enjoy the sun and the outdoors, Mole meets Water Rat by the river a sight he had never seen before and becomes enchanted by the riverbank life as they set off on a cheerful boat trip.

Visiting the wealthy but fickle Toad together with Rat, Mole joins a horse-drawn caravan trip at Toad's persuasion; however, the journey ends in disaster when a luxury motorcar forces their caravan into a ditch, sparking Toad's new obsession with automobiles.

Curious about the mysterious Badger, Mole ventures alone into the Wild Wood on a cold winter day, only to get lost and terrified. Rat follows to rescue him, and after being stranded in the snow, they accidentally stumble upon Badger's front door.

Taking refuge in Badger's warm and welcoming home, the duo rest and eat while planning with Badger to intervene come spring and save Toad from his dangerous motorcar obsession.

Returning to their riverbank home from the woods, Rat and Mole observe the peaceful atmosphere of the village and warm homes during an evening walk, rediscovering the true value of home.
