Everything in her life all started to go downhill the moment her father left for a business trip. That was when everything seemed to hit the fan for the woman he was married too to finally have some sort of mental break. Kate was happy in her life and she was getting settled by buying her own house and continuing to move up the ladder in her own job. Her life was great for an early twenty something person.
Then she got an eviction notice from her stepmother. It confused her more than anything since her stepmother did not own her house; she did. After days of being told to stand down by other people and she did not understand how things worked a work friend showed up to drop off some files for her to go over. In the process, she was introduced to two detectives who listened and knew that something was very wrong with the story she was stating.
The more she spoke, the more they knew there was something else that she did not know was going on. They both hit the ground running and were doing everything they could to help her out. One of them even offered to stay with her for the extra layer of protection for her safety. She was grateful for the help.
Step by step, the two detectives worked the case, and it began to unravel and was a lot bigger and more nefarious than either of them had thought it would be. However, in the process, something happened for Kate and she found someone to trust and to hold on too. She would deal with the pain, but he also got the love as well.
