About this ebook

She never forgot the boy who defended her. He never dreamed she would remember.

Lady Sophia Rowlandson has spent years perfecting the art of quiet composure—broken only once, at a country ball when she was fifteen. Branded a lackwit by an insensitive neighbor, she was rescued by the unexpected gallantry of his visiting friend. Mr. Harwood’s defense lingered in her memory, and not even a separation of four years succeeded in dimming her admiration.

Felix Harwood remembered his friend’s lovely neighbor but had no expectation of seeing her again. After a period of four years in which he volunteered in the yeomanry, standing guard along England’s coast, he is now in London and ready to take his seat in Parliament. When he meets Lady Sophia again, he immediately falls under her charm and must fight to remind himself she is above him in station. Despite his determination to stay away, the appeal of her gentle nature shakes his carefully built resolve, and her kindness tempts him toward hope.

But society has claims of its own—and rivals eager to win her hand. As the gulf of class and expectation looms between them, Felix must decide: remain the dutiful man he has always been, or risk his hard-won future for the woman he has never forgotten.

A clean Regency romance for readers who love tender kisses, stolen glances, and a happily-ever-after worth fighting for.

The painfully shy Lady Sophia was at the mercy of Robert Cunningworth, until Mr Felix Harwood stepped in to divert his taunts. Years later when Felix makes his interest in Sophia, known, Robert pulls out all the stops to bring about Felix's downfall. Fortunately, truth prevails, bringing about the perfect conclusion for Felix and Sophia.

Sweet, clean Regency romance with likeable characters. I particularly appreciated the close family relationships portrayed in the story. I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest review.

This book started off with the sweetest meet cute. Shy Lady Sofia takes a little longer to warm up to society. When her neighbor Robert, that grew up with, belittles her, Mr. Harwood defends her, even though she is a stranger to him. Years later Robert is trying to court her, but Sofia has never forgotten Mr. Harwood’s kindness. Does he remember? Will the difference in their stations be too much to overcome? I loved this story!
