About this ebook

Desk-Proof Your Body is a detailed, practical guide to Daily Mobility Routines for Desk Workers and Remote Employees for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include The Sitting Epidemic, What Mobility Actually Means, Where Are You Stuck?, The 5-Minute Foundation Flow, Neck and Shoulder Rescue, Upper Back and Thoracic Spine, The Lower Back Trap, Hip Opener Sequence, Wrist, Hand, and Elbow Care, The Morning Mobility Ritual, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Grace Acuna is a certified personal trainer, mobility specialist, and corrective exercise practitioner who has spent the past decade helping desk workers and remote professionals reclaim their bodies from the grip of sedentary work. After earning her degree in kinesiology and accumulating certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Functional Range Conditioning system, Grace noticed a troubling pattern in her clients: the most motivated, health-conscious professionals were still showing up with the same postural distortions and chronic pain driven by prolonged sitting. Traditional fitness programming wasn’t solving the problem because it wasn’t addressing the root cause.

That realization led Grace to develop a specialized approach blending mobility training, myofascial release, and behavioral habit design specifically for the desk-bound workforce. She has coached hundreds of clients ranging from software engineers and graphic designers to attorneys and accountants—people whose careers demand hours of screen time but whose bodies were never built for that reality. Her methods have been adopted by corporate wellness programs at technology companies, co-working spaces, and remote-first organizations across North America.

Grace maintains an active coaching practice and regularly writes and speaks on the intersection of workplace health, pain science, and sustainable movement habits. When she’s not teaching clients how to undo the effects of their desk chairs, she’s experimenting with her own standing desk setup, hiking the trails near her home in Austin, Texas, or practicing the evening mobility routine she never skips. She firmly believes that no career should cost you a pain-free body and that five minutes, repeated daily, is enough to make sure it doesn’t.
