EngHun is a haunting bilingual narrative that moves restlessly between English and Hungarian—much like the fractured consciousness of those living under the weight of an unseen regime. Over the course of ten years, Linura Toshpulatova maps a descent into the spaces between freedom and compliance, memory and forced forgetting, the self you are and the self you must become.
This is not merely a story of two languages, but of two worlds—one of stark, bureaucratic clarity, the other of chaotic, nightmarish enforcement. Through the lives of Jiang Du Ninh, Beauty Minnows Hoa, and a constellation of characters navigating love, loyalty, and loss, Toshpulatova crafts a mirrored labyrinth of identity, selection, and silent rebellion.
For readers of speculative fiction, political dystopia, and literary bilingual experimentation, EngHun is a chilling, poetic, and unforgettable exploration of the cages we build, the choices we make in locked rooms, and the courage it takes to remember—or to forget—in order to survive another day.

Toshpulatova Linura is a visionary writer and artist whose work explores the intersections of language, power, and identity. With a background in multilingual literature and a deep interest in folklore and bureaucratic gothic traditions, she crafts narratives that exist in the liminal spaces between words and their echoes, rules and their grotesque enforcements.
EngHun is her debut novel—a dual-tongued, genre-defying work that invites readers into a fractured world both familiar and unsettling. Linura’s writing is characterized by its poetic intensity, structural innovation, and unflinching gaze into the mechanisms of control and the human spirit that persists beneath them.
When not writing, she is engaged in cross-cultural artistic collaborations and the study of linguistic resistance in literature. She currently lives and creates between worlds.
