Cherie Spurlin is an English language educator, communication coach, and curriculum developer with more than fifteen years of experience helping non-native speakers find their voice in English. A lifelong learner herself, she holds a Master of Arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and has taught English in classrooms, online language schools, and corporate training programs across three countries, working with engineers, nurses, software developers, entrepreneurs, and university students from more than thirty countries.
Her work focuses on a simple belief: that fluency is built on confidence, and confidence is built on practice. Too many learners study grammar for years while avoiding the one thing that matters most, actually speaking. Cherie's teaching method combines structured speaking drills, targeted pronunciation training, and realistic role-plays designed to prepare learners for the conversations they actually need, from job interviews and team meetings to everyday small talk and phone calls.
In addition to teaching, Cherie has developed language curricula for international companies and education platforms, and she leads workshops on presentation skills, intercultural communication, and confidence building for non-native-speaking professionals. Her students regularly describe her as patient, practical, and relentlessly encouraging.
When she is not teaching, Cherie is usually learning something herself. She has studied Spanish, French, and Mandarin at different points in her life, and she knows firsthand how vulnerable it feels to make mistakes in front of others. That experience shapes every lesson she teaches. She lives with her family and two very vocal parrots, and she is currently writing her next book for intermediate English speakers preparing for leadership roles in global workplaces.
