Mr Lonely

A Modern Noir Thriller

A suspended detective.

A disgraced ex-cop.

A serial killer who stages his victims like domestic dolls.

And a Florida county that would rather look away.

When Elena Cruz’s younger sister—an elite escort working the high-end “GFE” circuit—is found dead in a roadside motel, the case is written off in twenty minutes. Another “overdose.” Another “bad date.” Another woman the system refuses to see.

But the scene is too clean. The body too carefully posed. The carnations too deliberate.

Cruz knows a murder when she sees one—and this killer has done it before.

Cut off from her badge and out of options, she tracks down the one man ruthless enough to hunt a predator without permission: John Bohannon, an ex-deputy turned off-the-books investigator living in an Airstream on a lonely slab of Florida scrub. He doesn’t want the job. But the moment he sees the flowers, he recognizes the pattern.

Mr. Lonely.

A ghost who selects high-end escorts, spends a weekend in a fantasy, then stages their bodies like perfect suburban wives.

And he’s accelerating.

What follows is a relentless, heat-soaked hunt through Palm Beach County’s strip clubs, luxury steakhouses, digital escrow networks, and the rotting underbelly of the wealthy. As Cruz and Bohannon dig deeper, the stranger becomes bolder—photographing them, tracking them, burning down their lives one piece at a time.

When the chase leads to a half-built mansion on the edge of the Everglades, every shadow hides a trap. Every room is staged. Every second counts. And Mr. Lonely is waiting for his final “weekend.”

Cruz wants justice.

Bohannon wants redemption.

The killer wants an audience.

Only one of them walks out of the slough alive.
