Pecos West

A Modern Western Noir Thriller

The desert doesn’t care if you live.

But Ward Sample does — and that makes him dangerous.

📘 BOOK DESCRIPTION

Ward Sample thought he left the job behind — the badge, the violence, the weight of decisions no one should carry. But when three blacked-out SUVs force a Greyhound bus to a standstill on a lonely stretch of highway west of the Pecos, he’s shoved right back into the crosshairs of the men he walked away from.

Their mistake?

They think Ward Sample is just another passenger.

What follows is a gritty, slow-burn spiral of ambushes, corrupt private security contractors, hidden water-rights schemes, and one name that’s been haunting Ward for months:

Cole Jarvis.

The ghost he didn’t bury deep enough.

As Ward digs deeper into a conspiracy stretching across the Permian Basin, he finds himself up against men who’ve traded their souls for money, power, and control of the most precious resource in the West: water.

The closer he gets, the deadlier the desert becomes — where every mile marker counts down to betrayal, blood, and the truth Jarvis will kill to keep buried.

If the desert doesn’t take Ward first… Jarvis will.
