Waking the Fire
About this ebook
Frankie has finally accepted her destiny as a Valkyrie with a talking cat. Developing the confidence to lead an army of battle maidens against hordes of draugr is a different beast altogether.
In order to stem the tide of Valkyrie deaths, Frankie needs to act. Odin’s spies are closing in. Loki is lurking in the shadows, harrying her at every turn. And the queen of the underworld is creating hell on earth in Portland.
Hel and her undead soldiers aren’t the only thing holding Frankie back, however. She’s the only Valkyrie whose flying horse hasn’t shown up. Without her battle mount, she worries no one will follow her and she won’t survive Ragnarök.

About the author
Amy Cissell is a USA Today Bestselling Author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance novels. She lives in Porto, Portugal with three cats (Frank aka Franklin aka Franklin Delamew Catsevelt aka Frank the Tank, Giles aka Rupurrrt Giles aka Gilly Giles aka Dummy, and Loki aka Lokster aka Loki von Lokenstein aka Dumbass aka STOP THAT RIGHT NOW OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?), her amazing teenager, and her husband (urban fantasy author extraordinaire C. Thomas Lafollette).
Amy is a witch and atheistic pagan with practices rooted in Norse and Celtic traditions. She has more tarot and oracle decks than she knows what to do with (although you can pry them from her cold, dead hands, and she's probably out shopping for more RIGHT NOW) and desperately needs more magic rocks.
In addition to writing a heapload of apocalypse-heavy fantasy, Amy co-hosts the Cliffhangers and Cocktails podcast with Shéa MacLeod.
She’d definitely climb into the back of a windowless van for free champagne, and loves well-timed puns, cozy evenings with a good book, and a family Minecraft session.
Although she reads anything and everything, her first love has always been fantasy. Amy was raised in Narnia and Prydain and Valdemar, but it wasn't until she was 11 and 'borrowed' her father's copy of The Hobbit that her enduring love affair with fantasy (ok, ok - you caught her - the love affair was mostly with dragons) was born.
