Singapore Taxi

FICTION - Benny Fong has spent more than thirty years behind the wheel of his battered off-white Mercedes taxi, threading through the streets, back alleys, and hidden corners of Singapore. He's seen the city change—but the real stories are the ones no tourist map ever shows.

In this lively collection of tales, follow Benny as he finds himself pulled into unexpected adventures—some suspenseful, some hilarious, all unmistakably Singaporean. From late-night chases through the CBD, to eccentric passengers with secrets of their own, to chance encounters that turn into mysteries, Benny's days are never as ordinary as they appear.

Whether he's rescuing a lost tourist, or stumbling into a crime-in-progress, Benny brings a dry wit, stubborn practicality, and a surprising knack for landing on his feet.

Part mystery, part comedy, part heartfelt slice-of-life, these stories celebrate the rhythm and character of Singapore—seen through the eyes of a man who knows its streets better than anyone.
