Yes, Captain: A Slow-Burn MM Sports Romance

Eighteen years of discipline. One rookie about to break every rule.

At thirty-six, Marc Donovan is a veteran captain who knows how to survive in the NHL: keep your head down, play hard, and never let anyone see the real you. He’s spent his entire career meticulously guarding his secrets, substituting genuine connection for quiet acts of service and unquestioned leadership. He has a system, and it works.

Then Tyler Chen gets drafted.

At twenty-two, the number three overall pick is a flashy, naturally gifted phenom on the ice, but underneath the performative charm, he’s spiraling. Desperate for validation and entirely unanchored, Tyler needs more than just a teammate. He needs a captain.

When unexpected circumstances force them to become secret roommates, Marc’s carefully constructed walls begin to crack. The quiet domesticity of shared mornings and the intense, unspoken tension of the locker room blur the lines of their professional boundaries. Tyler thrives under Marc’s patient, grounded authority, and for the first time in his life, Marc finds someone who looks past his stoic exterior.

But in a world of blinding press flashes, relentless scrutiny, and a locker room full of prying eyes, keeping their distance is no longer an option. Giving in could cost them the game, their careers, and the carefully crafted lives they’ve built.

Yes, Captain is a high-heat, slow-burn MM hockey romance featuring a grumpy/sunshine dynamic, forced proximity, intense emotional depth, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
