Evie Mercer has been handed the kind of opportunity that could change her career. There is only one problem: the movie is terrible.
Desperate to prove herself in Hollywood, the independent filmmaker agrees to direct a studio production she can barely believe was funded. Soon she is halfway across the world in New Zealand, trying to rescue an impossible script while navigating demanding executives, a chaotic production, and a town that seems to have opinions about everything.
Then she meets Cameron Doyle.
Their first encounter is hardly romantic, and Senior Constable Cam has little patience for Evie's film crew invading his corner of the world. Evie finds him infuriating. Cam thinks she brings trouble wherever she goes.
Neither expects the arguments to become chemistry.
As production pressures rise, Evie and Cam are drawn into each other's lives, forcing both of them to confront what they actually want. Evie's future depends on making a movie she does not believe in. Cam has built his life around stability, duty, and staying exactly where he belongs.
Falling for each other was never in the script.
And when real life demands a choice, neither of them can simply yell cut and rewrite the scene.
