Ivy came to Ashford Hollow to disappear.
Dorian came there to infiltrate it.
As a lieutenant in the Night Command, Dorian leads an elite squad built for missions too dirty to officially exist. Their target is Blackthorn, the secret organization buried beneath a corrupt small town. Freedom is supposed to be Dorian's reward if he completes the mission.
Then he finds Ivy.
She is hiding under a borrowed name, running from a past violent enough to make even Dorian's world look familiar. He does not trust her. She does not trust the armed strangers suddenly watching her house. But when Blackthorn's attention turns toward Ivy and the man she escaped resurfaces, suspicion becomes protection, and protection becomes an attraction neither of them can keep clean.
The deeper Dorian digs, the less anything makes sense.
A missing piece of information may connect Ivy to the mission. Her past contains gaps she cannot explain. And the people giving Dorian orders may be hiding more than the enemy he was sent to destroy.
He was trained to recognize lies, eliminate threats, and never hesitate.
Ivy may be all three.
But if the darkest secret in Ashford Hollow is buried inside the woman he is falling for, Dorian will have to decide whether freedom is still worth the price.
