unlike the other comments, I love the narrator's voice! The characters were great, and the book is fast paced. I loved it but I just dont want to drop more money for the next book in the series if I am left with even more mysteries + slow burn romance that never goes anywhere. For every small plot development there is another several mysteries to solve that won't be answered unless you buy the next one... not enough payoff for my brain but I did listen to the whole story.

I really wanted to like this book. The way the narrator read the book, I felt like I was listening to Google Assistant. I feel the book has great potential, but some of the ways things like emotions were described were lacking or the way the characters would suddenly have a burst of random excitement was misplaced. Maybe it just has to do with how the narrator read the book, but I thought the story was choppy.
