A Living Sacrifice (Annotated Edition): With Chapter Notes

A Living Sacrifice by Watchman Nee is a practical, heart-searching guide for believers who long to move from sincere faith to a life truly offered to God. With clarity and pastoral urgency, Nee leads the reader through foundational steps of Christian obedience and spiritual formation—showing how daily choices become worship when the whole person is yielded to Christ.

This book addresses real, concrete matters: the meaning of baptism, how to conclude the past with a clean conscience, the lordship of Christ over possessions, consecration as a deliberate presentation of oneself to God, and the habits that sustain a living sacrifice—Scripture, prayer, and disciplined devotion. Nee’s strength is his ability to bring deep spiritual truth down to everyday practice without losing reverence or depth. The result is both sobering and hopeful: God does not call believers to an abstract ideal, but to a life that can be lived—by grace—one surrendered decision at a time.

What makes this edition unique

This Edition is designed as a reader’s edition. It includes brief editorial notes introducing each chapter’s central themes, helping the reader follow the progression of Nee’s thought and apply it with clarity. Compared to standard reprints that present the text alone, this edition offers structured guidance while keeping the devotional tone intact—ideal for personal study, discipleship, and rereading with deeper understanding.

If you are seeking a Christianity that is more than knowledge—more than intention—A Living Sacrifice calls you to a life placed on God’s altar, where surrender becomes freedom and obedience becomes joy.
