About this audiobook
Swami Vivekananda was one of the most influential spiritual teachers of the modern age and the man who introduced millions in the West to the philosophical traditions of India. A disciple of Ramakrishna, Vivekananda became a powerful advocate for Vedanta, religious harmony, and the spiritual potential of humanity. His teachings helped bridge Eastern and Western thought at a time when the world was becoming increasingly interconnected.
Born Narendranath Datta in Calcutta in 1863, Vivekananda possessed an extraordinary intellect, a questioning mind, and a deep desire to understand the nature of reality. Following his association with Ramakrishna, he embraced a life dedicated to spiritual inquiry and service. After his teacher's death, he traveled extensively throughout India, witnessing both the richness of its spiritual heritage and the hardships faced by its people.
This biography traces Vivekananda's remarkable journey from student and seeker to global spiritual ambassador. Drawing upon historical records, letters, lectures, memoirs, and contemporary accounts, it explores his teachings, travels, achievements, and enduring legacy. More than a century after his death in 1902, Swami Vivekananda continues to inspire readers, scholars, and spiritual seekers around the world through his vision of human unity, self-realization, and service to others.
