Hi, I'm Patrik. I made Material Digital Halo because I wanted my watch to feel less like a spreadsheet and more like... well, a watch I'd actually enjoy checking.
The big idea: a fat glowing ring that fills up as your heart rate (or steps, or whatever you like) climbs — a little cheer for you every time you glance at your wrist. Blow past 100% of a goal and it doesn't just stop — a second colour grows in from the middle, so you can tell you've smashed it without even reading the number. The time sits snug in the gap at the bottom. Right in the centre there's a small nine-pointed star doing the same trick for a second stat, with its own icon. And tucked under the time is a tiny third slot — day and date by default, both of them, because who only wants the day OR the date?
• RING — heart rate by default, but swap in steps, a goal, anything with a percentage.
• CENTRE — steps by default, or whatever number matters to you.
• BOTTOM — day + date, or any short complication you like.
When the screen goes always-on, everything calms down to thin, quiet outlines to save your battery — except the star keeps a little wink of colour, because I couldn't bear to make it fully colourless.
Speaking of colour: there are 21 themes. Twelve of them are the new two-tone kind I've been having a lot of fun with — one colour for the shape, a totally different accent for the numbers and icons, so nothing gets lost. The other nine are the classic single-colour themes from the rest of my Material Digital watch faces, for anyone who prefers those. (Reef, Graphite, Slate, Lagoon, Amethyst, Twilight, Harvest, Meadow, Rose Gold, Forest, Poppy, Admiral, plus the classics: Grey, Mint, Lavender, Sky, Peach, Butter, Rose, Coral, Sage.) Pick yours in the watch face editor.
And that's it, really — no accounts, no ads, no data flying anywhere. It just sits on your watch and does its thing. I hope it makes checking the time a tiny bit nicer.
