He has lived in the UK, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia, and worked as legal counsel for a global IT company before turning to writing. Now the author of twenty books, he has been dubbed "Asia's Stephen King." Drawing on Malay myths, legends, and folklore, his work is widely regarded as "world gothic."
