Ryan Butta

Ryan Butta has spent the last twenty years observing and writing on the machinations of Latin American politics. Growing up in Australia, he first travelled to Latin America as a teenager in the 1990s and spent two years travelling through Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. In 2007 he returned to Argentina where he worked as a business intelligence consultant, advising multinational companies on political risk, fraud, corruption and extortion. Working across the continent, he has had a front row seat to many of the major corruption scandals that have rocked Latin America in the past 10 years. He is passionate about telling the stories of Latin America beyond the post cards, the guide books and the tours.
